Farming

Sengsavang centre is set on a large piece of land, and it is utilised fully to reduce the cost of running the centre, and provide food for the women it supports.

The most successful enterprise is the mushroom house. When they are growing at full capacity, sixty kilos of mushrooms can go out per day to local restaurants and families. Other vegetables and fruit are grown for eating at the centre, along with chickens and the cows do a great job of keeping the grass mown.

There is even an area dedicated to solar cells. This has managed to reduce the cost of electricity by 70%.
